About Us
We are a 501(c)3 dedicated to honoring Jack Duffy's life by promoting personal empowerment of physical and mental health, particularly for teens and young adults. We support overall mental health and suicide awareness, research, and education; and we work with other non-profit partners to expand our impact.
The Foundation's major event is the annual Jack Duffy 5K Power Run, held each August in Horsham, PA to celebrate Jack's life and raise awareness and funds for mental health and the fight against suicide.
About Jack
Jack Duffy
1999 - 2019
Jack was a brilliant student, a gifted athlete, and a genuine friend. He graduated with a Scholar’s Diploma from Hatboro-Horsham High School in 2017 and started at Dartmouth College that fall. In the meantime, he taught himself to code and developed several website businesses based on his desire to “serve, help, and empower others.” He took time off from college to travel and focus on his entrepreneurial endeavors. But Jack’s brilliant mind was suffering from clinical depression, and just after his 20th birthday he died from suicide. Jack will always be remembered by those who loved him and were touched by his kindness, sharp intellect, and unique insights - well beyond his years.
In a brief personal bio, Jack once wrote:
"I often get really into things. If something captures my interest, I am prone to focus a lot of time and energy on it. This is useful, of course, for things of a productive nature, but at times I have to catch myself and stay a bit more balanced.
I wouldn’t necessarily say that I am super funny, but I think I do a good job of making my humor not hurtful. Lighthearted jokes always trump ones that might point out real insecurities; and I do pride myself on understanding the people around me. At times I do analyze people, but I only ever intend to have a positive impact on their health and happiness.
I like to think that I’m a good friend."
