Mark your calendars, mateys! The Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County is hosting a month-long scavenger hunt throughout July! This family-friendly challenge takes place on the SWA Greenway Trail System, at your home and around Palm Beach County. The pirate-themed hunt will encourage residents to explore ways to Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Rethink how they generate and dispose of their waste in our community. 

To participate, crews will need to download the free GooseChase app on their mobile device. The app lists the fun, challenging and sometimes wacky missions you'll be completing. Earn points by submitting photos and/or videos of your crew for each mission, and keep track of the competition through real-time updates to the newsfeed and leaderboard!

Missions include finding specific locations on our trails, repurposing items around your home, and snapping pictures of your crew doing fun activities. You can complete them throughout the entire month of July at your convenience. And be sure to keep an eye out for limited time missions that will appear in the app!

Prizes will be awarded to the top three crews, as well as to the crew with the most creative submissions; however all crews who earn at least 5,000 points will be entered to win valuable loot.

All proceeds benefit Resource Depot, a not-for-profit creative reuse center in Palm Beach County that collects and distributes unwanted reusable materials to the arts and education communities. Last year, Resource Depot kept almost 200,000 pounds of reusable supplies out of our landfill and put them in the hands of those students, artists and teachers who could use them most.
