November is National Homelessness Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness and extend compassion to those facing housing insecurity. At CHI-CARE, we are dedicated to helping our neighbors on the streets of Chicago through targeted initiatives throughout the month. Join us in making a meaningful impact each week heading into Giving Tuesday on December 3rd.

Snack Packs
Assemble and distribute snack packs filled with nutritious, grab-and-go food to help sustain individuals throughout the day. You and your friends or co-workers can support CHI-CARE by hosting a Snack Pack making event at your office or purchase items on our wish list to help cover the costs.

Nothing warms the soul like a hot meal. Volunteers serve meals on our weekly routes that are prepared by our restaurant partners across Chicagoland. You can help by serving hearty dishes to those in need, bringing comfort and nourishment as the temperatures drop. For as low as $5, you can provide an unhoused brother or sister a hot meal. You can sponsor meals for a day, weekend or the week!

Access to hygiene products is essential to maintaining dignity and health. CHI-CARE provide kits with soap, toothbrushes, deodorant, and other essentials to individuals on the streets. You can purchase items off our Amazon Wish List to cover the cost or sign up to host a hygiene kit event.

As winter settles in, we’ll distribute blankets, coats, hats, and gloves to protect our most vulnerable community members from the cold. We are looking for donors to provide new items off our Amazon Wish List or buying directly and send to our warehouse. Our city has so many unhoused individuals that face these chilly, winter days without the proper gear to stay warm or heat to withstand sleeping outdoors.
