Meet Jaci Field
Jaci Field is a long time volunteer for Crape Myrtle. She got involved with the organization to give back to the community in a fun and meaningful way. Her mother was one of the first HIV/AIDS nurses in the early 80s when the virus was first identified. So, Jaci watched how it ravaged our community and divided the country. She grew up in Cary (Go Imps!) but moved back here from Atlanta in 1999. After being very involved in the gay community there she wanted to find a way to contribute and use her talents to support Raleigh organizations. Jaci has served the Raleigh community on the Board of Directors of the LGBT Center of Raleigh. She has been a court member several times, a Board of Directors member, the Vice Chair of the Board, the President of the Board, and is now an Emeritus Board member with Crape Myrtle.
She loves music, volunteering, working out, visiting with friends, dancing, and all things Carolina. Jaci is an Assistant Athletic Director of Capital Projects and Facilities at her alma mater. She also sesrves as the Chair of the Carolina Black Caucus, an organization that advocates for and builds community for black faculty and staff at UNC. Jaci lives near downtwon Raleigh with her son, Declan, and their dog, Pinky.
