About this Race Series

The Upstate Brew Series welcomes all runners and of course beer drinkers alike to the 2nd Annual Upstate Brew Series. Our goal is to bring the running community a little closer with some liquid courage! This competitive point series will include 7 events in the upstate. 

Welcome to the Upstate Brew Series, a thrilling seven-event race series that beckons both seasoned runners and enthusiastic newcomers to lace up their sneakers and embrace the joy of running. Our series is not just about the thrill of the race; it's a celebration of community, camaraderie, and, of course, the love of craft brews. Each event is uniquely crafted to challenge participants while fostering a sense of connection among fellow runners. 

The series kicks off with:  

• Hair of the Dog 2 Mile on January 4th
  

• Lovers Lane 5k on February 14th

• Ales for Trails 5k on March 15th

• Chase the Rainbow 5k on March 15th
  

• The Downville Mile on May 31st

• Red White & Brew 5k on July 5th
  

• Beer & BBQ 5k on October 4th
  

• Bridge to Brew 5k on October 17th

• Rivalry Fan 5k on November 29th

As runners traverse picturesque routes and compete in diverse distances, they not only accumulate points but also become part of a vibrant running community. Each race offers a unique flavor, reflecting the spirit of its location and the distinctive characteristics of the Upstate region. So, whether you're chasing personal records, aiming for age group victories, or simply reveling in the thrill of the run, the Upstate Brew Series invites you to join us on a journey that combines the passion for running with the pleasure of post-race celebrations featuring local craft brews and unforgettable memories.

*You are entered in the age group category based off of your age on December 31st of this year. You may still place in your current age group category for the individual races but the series is scored based on your end of year age. Athletes are automatically entered into the series when they register for any race and are scored automatically with our timing software. To ensure automatic scoring please use the same RunSignUp profile.

*Maximum of 5 Races Can Score (if you compete in more than 5 races we will take your top 5 finishes)

Age Group Series Awards for 2025

We will be recognizing our top 3 award winners at the end of the year at our Annual Awards Ceremony with trophies made by Hickory Handcrafted. In addition of placing in the top 3 we will be awarding race discounts to our top 5 finishers in each age group category for the series. 

• 1st Place - 50% OFF Series & 1st Place Trophy
• 2nd Place - 40% OFF Series & 2nd Place Trophy
• 3rd Place - 30% OFF Series & 3rd Place Trophy
• 4th Place - 20% OFF Series
• 5th Place - 10% OFF Series

Races will be scored per your age group as of 12/31/2025

• 1st Place - 10 points
• 2nd place - 9 points
• 3rd Place - 8 points
• 4th Place - 7 points
• 5th Place - 6 points
• 6th Place - 5 points
• 7th Place - 4 points
• 8th Place - 3 points
• 9th Place - 2 points
• 10th Place - 1 point
• All finishers receive 1 point
