Information about PINK "ME"

PINK “ME” offers three different programs to help support women on their journey through breast cancer and survivorship. Our first program, Connected by Cells Program, connects you to us through texts, calls, or email- whatever support communication you prefer! We will communicate inspirational quotes and help to be a support system so you will not have to go through your journey alone. Our next program, Breast Cancer Treatment Health Assistance Program, provides financial assistance to women who are in active treatment for breast cancer. Finally, our last program, Survivor Health & Wellness Assistance Program provides financial assistance to women who are survivors of breast cancer.

PINK "ME” Breast Cancer Treatment Health Assistance

Provides financial assistance for basic living and healthcare expenses to eligible breast cancer patients. Entry into the Financial Assistance Programs for the Breast Cancer Treatment is 4 times per year, quarterly, and is based on funding and financial resources available. Our goal is to provide resources and financial support to those that are in active breast cancer treatment and to help women to understand their health information/medical records accessibility for their healthcare and treatment outcomes.

The amount of assistance is given on a short-term basis (up to 90 days) with a financial limit of $1,500.00 based on qualification, available program funds and need.

PINK “ME” Survivor Health and Wellness Assistance Program
Health and wellness is an important process of breast cancer survivors and the process of achieving one’s personal best state of mental and physical health. An active lifestyle can contribute to an increase state of one’s health and wellness.

You must be a cancer survivor, past one year of all cancer treatments. PINK "ME” Survivor Health and Wellness Financial Assistance Program is not an emergency fund and cannot provide immediate financial assistance. The amount of assistance is given on short-term basis (up to 90 days) with a financial limit of $600.00 based on qualification, available program funds and need.

About PINK "ME" Mammograms Matter New Mexico Initiative

PINK “ME” sponsors and covers the cost for ten women located in the state of New Mexico for their 3D Mammogram Screenings. For those experiencing financial hardship, PINK "ME" provides financial assistance to cover the cost of mammogram screenings (up to $250). Payments are paid directly to healthcare entity.

Early detection saves lives and partnering with our community partners will help create a pathway towards fulfilling our mission. This partnership will help support those in the community with additional resource options, and financial support, which significantly impacts the toll on those diagnosed with breast cancer and their families.

PINK "ME" Up Food-No Hunger Project

Recognizing the impact of treatment costs and lost work time, this initiative addresses food insecurities among cancer patients and their caregivers, ensuring access to nutritious food.

Food insecurity is more prevalent among cancer patients and their caregivers due to treatment costs and lost work time, leading to reduced grocery spending. The American Cancer Society highlights this issue, with fightcancer.org noting that 40% of survivors have incurred debt to buy food, and 11% have delayed or skipped treatment to afford it. Food insecurity also correlates with lower cancer screening rates, including for breast cancer.

In efforts to assist with food insecurities that our recent friends have experienced, we are pleased to announce a new initiative towards addressing food insecurities among those affected by breast cancer.

2024: $19,632.55 financial assistance bill payments were paid on behalf of women in our financial assistance programs, Mammograms Matter New Mexico, and Food-No Hunger Project.
