Water For People World Water Classic

In many parts of the world, people are still spending hours every single day walking for water. That’s why we created the World Water Classic – a way for you to join us from anywhere to help change this reality. 
 
But this isn’t just a typical 5k. It’s 6 kilometers because that’s the average distance women and girls in Sub-Saharan Africa walk each day to collect water for their families.  
 
Here’s where you come in. You can help change that by donating or participating in Water For People’s World Water Classic! Your generous contribution will help provide improved water and sanitation through Water For People’s programs in nine countries in Latin America, Africa, and India. 

If you help us reach our goal of US$40,000, that means many more women and girls will no longer have to walk to get water. Fundraising is open until October 31. 

When you fundraise, you can win! The members of the top fundraising Team will be recognized and the top individual fundraiser will receive a Water For People care package. Winners will be notified in late October.
