Athlete Details

We're looking forward to a great Polar Prowl with you!

We're looking forward to seeing you at Polar Prowl on January 11 in Arvada, CO! Here's all the details that you need for a safe and fun event, please read them all the way through!

Check your athlete details by looking it up. If you have any changes, you can do so by logging into RunSignup or emailing us. You can change your distance anytime up to 10 minutes before the distance starts.

Be prepared

  • As this is an event during the snow season in Colorado, you should pay close attention to updates this week
  • We will hold the event, snow or shine, unless roads are closed due to weather
  • Check out the weather, our favorite sources are National Weather Service and Weather Underground
  • We will post trail conditions on our social media Friday afternoon, after we mark the course
  • We do provide the option to transfer to a virtual event if the weather conditions don't meet your training goals or running style. However, you must transfer by the deadline on the website to avoid additional shipping charges

Packet pickup and on-site registration

  • Early packet pickup has been cancelled
  • Packet pickup and on-site registration opens race morning at 8:15a and closes (no exceptions):
    • Half marathon: 8:50a
    • 10K: 9:00a
    • 5K: 9:10a
  • You do not need an ID to pick up your packet, or the packet of your friend/spouse/etc. Just give us names!
  • There's still time for friends and family to sign up for the event!

Using BibBoards to attach your bib

  • We now have special All-Out-themed BibBoards at our events as part of your SWAG. These are a great alternative to safety pins or magnet bib holders as they don't poke holes in your clothing but stay where you put them
  • It's super-simple to put your bib on with BibBoards, even while you're wearing your shirt. Here's a YouTube video showing how
  • You can use BibBoards on shirts and [thinner] pants/shorts
  • If you don't want to use BibBoards, we'll still have safety pins available!

  • Directions: The Stenger Soccer Complex is located at 11200 W 58th Ave in Arvada. From I-70, go north on Kipling then west on 58th. Stenger will be just past the baseball fields on the south side of the street. Enter at Quail and 58th St. Click here for a map or to get directions.

  • Our expo partners will be available for you pre-race and post-race

Penguin Waddle

  • We will have a kid's run, the Penguin Waddle, at 8:45a before the races
  • Please make plans to be there at the start line at 8:45 and cheer on our little athletes!

Race starts

  • Bibs must be on your outer-most layer and visible
  • Please line up in the corral based on your expected pace (those going for the course record in the front to walkers in the back)
  • Note that we will be using chip timing, so even if someone never passes you on the course, they may have a faster time
  • Start times. If you are late, you will be asked to downgrade distance or will not be allowed to run on course with a bib as part of the event (this is for your safety on course)
    • Half: start at 9:00a and by 9:05a
    • 10K: start at 9:10a and by 9:15a
    • 5K: start at 9:20a and by 9:25a

Course safety

  • Use basic trail-sharing etiquette, and especially watch for cyclists whenever passing
  • Ensure your bib is always visible and on your front, this is for your on-course safety and also for identifying photographs of you on course
  • Make sure you are familiar with your course and aid stations from our course details page. We have water, Gatorade, Gu energy gels, and Superganix CBD Relief Balm at every aid station
  • We have bright green course signs with blue arrows, course markings on the ground with bright green tape, and course volunteers at key locations to help guide you. You will be running only on the concrete Van Bibber Trail except the first and last 0.2 mi between the venue and Van Bibber Trail and basically, unless there's a sign telling you to turn, never turn
  • We have orange discs to block where you shouldn't go. Don't go through, around, over, or past any orange disc, or you will be off-course and get lost (we hate that!)
  • It is important if you choose to shorten your distance during the event, notify course volunteers as soon as possible and the timer as soon as you cross the finish line
  • You can drop items at any aid station, and we will attempt to get your items back to the venue as soon as possible and they will be at the Gear Check tent. If you cannot wait for your item, email after the event and we can mail your gear (with paid shipping) or hold it until your next event. Best practice: put your name in your gear
  • Dogs are loved as running partners! We have dog bowls at every aid station and the finish line, and dog treats at the meal tent. Make sure to use short leashes while on course

Post-race

  • We will not have computers at the timing tent to look up results, be sure to sign up for results notifications or have a mobile device to look up your results with the QR codes posted in the venue or the one on your bib
  • NEW the QR code on your bib will take you directly to your results, the QR codes posted in the venue will take you to the general results page
  • We offer results notifications that will send your results straight to your phone, make sure to go to "Confirm my registration" above and sign up for notifications if you didn't do so when you registered
  • We offer FREE medal engraving for your medal keepsake!
  • Stop by the meal tent for post-race goodies, including fruit, warm breakfast burrito and cider, and chocolate milk (post-race goodies are for athletes only)
