I have committed to the "Go The Distance" Challenge in order to raise awareness and financial support for Children's Home Society of Virginia in honor of National Foster Care Month. Children's Home Society of Virginia has been going the distance, creating permanency for Virginia’s at-risk children and youth for over 120 years. I'm fundraising through this event in order to help them continue for the next 120 years!
I have personalized my commitment. I will walk, jog, run, bike, skip, swim (okay, maybe not swim), log roll....you get the idea...a total of 250 miles over the 31 days of May. I’m doing this to raise money and awareness on behalf of the 1,000+ Virginia children and youth who are waiting in foster care to be adopted or who age out without a permanent family. These kids are there through no fault of their own.
Please join me by signing up for the challenge yourself or donating to my team called “Walk Them Home.” If you choose to sign up, you simply customize your own challenge!
The challenges these kids face are enormous. They are children—children who deserve a safe, permanent, loving family. I’m challenging MYSELF to do my part to help them. I hope you will, too!
