I received a diagnosis of colon cancer in August 2022 at my initial colonoscopy. I experienced no premonitory symptoms, only a stomachache that prompted me to go to the emergency room. I had a total colectomy operation in September 2022 to remove my whole colon. The specialists at UAB successfully removed all visible cancer. In October 2022, I began chemotherapy to confirm the eradication of all cancer cells.
After completing twelve rounds of chemotherapy, I had to undergo a liver resection in May 2023 due to the cancer spreading to my liver. In August 2023, I received radiation therapy to eliminate a recurrent tiny tumor on my liver. I am currently undergoing treatment to eliminate recurrent cancer.
In December, I underwent lung resection to remove spots from my lung. It was a successful surgery. On January 16, 2025, I receive news that my scans and blood work were clear of cancer. I am very thankful to God for this miracle. I am still a fighter and have no intention of surrendering in my battle. I appreciate the survivors for improving my path, I honor the angels, and I have great love and respect for the warriors. I aim to raise donations to increase awareness of colorectal cancer and encourage open discussions about it.
Below is information about the race. Again, thank you for your donations.

Important facts and how you can help
Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States, but with recommended screenings, it is preventable, treatable, and beatable! By creating and circulating your personalized Rumpshaker, Inc. fundraising page, you will help us carry out our mission. Together we can touch the lives of many individuals here in Alabama, from patients and their families, to physicians.
Specifically, your fundraising efforts will educate individuals and raise awareness about colorectal cancer by means of the Rumpshaker 5K, a traveling 30-foot inflatable colon display, and other events. Funds will also go to fight colorectal cancer in Birmingham, by providing financial assistance to local hospitals for purchasing state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment. Additionally, funds will go to provide hope for colorectal cancer patients in Alabama through support of the Lisa Martz Hope Fund.
Again, thank you for joining us in the fight against colorectal cancer! Together we can make a difference, a difference that may save your life or the life of someone you love!
