Pedal the Cause

I’ve been a dedicated supporter of Pedal the Cause since its inception, contributing both as a photographer and, for the past eight years, as a rider. My journey with Pedal the Cause began behind the lens, capturing the spirit and determination of participants as they rallied to support cancer research. However, in September 2016, I felt the call to join the ride myself, and since then, I’ve been honored to pedal alongside so many others committed to creating a world without cancer.

This cause is deeply personal to me. Both of my mother-in-laws, Jean Rudman and Susie Shevitz, have fought their battles with cancer. Jean was a survivor before her passing, and Susie continues to thrive as a survivor today. Their strength and resilience inspire me daily, and their stories fuel my commitment to Pedal the Cause.

Over the years, I’ve seen firsthand the incredible impact this event has on funding critical cancer research at the Siteman Cancer Center and Siteman Kids at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Knowing that 100% of the funds raised go directly to research that could lead to new treatments and cures makes every mile worth it. As we celebrate 15 years of Pedal the Cause, I’m more motivated than ever to help make a difference.
