Our daily lives are enriched by the refugees in our community -- at work, play, in places of worship, social and civic organizations. Despite the false characterizations and accusations painted by ignorant leaders and citizens alike, these are fellow humans that deserve the support, care and opportunities that we've all had --- or how about that most of us never needed from our elevated vantage point of privilege!!?
Take a few mintues to consider what it'd be like to flee your home, your country, all that you know and have, because it's actually the better option than staying to face violence, poverty, hunger, abuse...These are not the actions of lazy, unskilled people, but rather those seeking survival and hope.
