I am proud to join Pedal the Cause in the fight against cancer. Pedal the Cause is more than the region's largest cancer fundraiser. It's a way of life, a celebration, a family and a movement fueled by the courage to end cancer. This cause is deeply personal for me and my family, as I will be pedaling in memory of my father, Frank Leone, who like so many fought the unfortunate losing battle against this disease.
During his fight we adopted the motto of "Embrace the suck" , it refers to doing a task as you have no other choice. It was our way of acknowledging the harsh realities of the fight while finding the strength and comfort in our shared experience to push through no matter the outcome. Despite everything he was going thing through, he remained focused on taking care of the people around him. His selflessness and love during that difficult time will always inspire me.
Every dollar raised makes a difference, 100% of your donation will fund lifesaving cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and Siteman Kids at St. Louis Children's Hospital, and with your support, we can help ensure that others do not have to face this same struggle.
