Why We Ride:

Remembering Beautiful Aunt Lindsey & Her Legacy of Lovingness

On November 30, 2020, our sister & aunt Lindsey Rae Marglous died after a 30-day battle with lung cancer. Less than a week before her devastating diagnosis, Sawyer and Lila called Lindsey to ask her to help them with their B'Nai Mitzvah project. They did not know what the project would be, but they knew that Lindsey's flair and creative spirit would make it unique. It was their way of including their favorite person in such an important milestone in their lives.

As it would turn out, Sawyer's & Lila's B'nai Mitzvah project became about honoring Aunt Lindsey. With your help, they raised over $75,000 to support cancer research in St. Louis that year. Sawyer & Lila would like to continue the magic in 2024 and hope you will be part of their team.

For those of you who never met Lindsey, she was warm, creative, and fun-loving. Her natural beauty radiated from the inside and out with her beautiful long blonde hair and blue eyes. She led with her heart. She loved Sawyer and Lila, and they had many exciting adventures together. After earning her undergraduate degree from Mizzou in Psychology, Lindsey did her post-graduate studies at Pepperdine University in Southern California, where she received dual Masters Degrees. Even with the passage of almost four years, we desperately miss and think about Lindsey daily. To learn more about Aunt Lindsey's legacy click here .

Lindsey's favorite thing in the world was spinning. So as Sawyer, Lila, and our entire family thought about honoring Aunt Lindsey and raising much-needed funds for cancer research, they connected with a wonderful St. Louis-based organization called Pedal the Cause. Pedal the Cause is a community-based cycling event that has raised more than $45 million since 2010 for cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and for Siteman Kids at St. Louis Children's Hospital. This year's Pedal the Cause weekend is September 21-22, 2024, in St. Louis, Missouri.

Sawyer and our family have an ambitious goal of raising $25,000 this year to support Pedal the Cause and cancer research. Please consider joining our team to cycle, spinning in person or from afar in Lindsey's Spin Zone, and/or donating to this phenomenal organization. Thank you for your consideration. Check out this shoutout by MICDS featuring Sawyer and the MICDS cycling and cyclocross teams supporting PTC.
