Please help us reach our goal to support cancer research and patient treatment at the exact location Masey received treatment.
Masey Moose was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, PleuroPulmonaryBlastoma (PPB) at age 3.5. She was diagnosed with the most advanced form of it. The Madison team could have sent her to MN to be treated but knew that our local facility was fully equipped to treat it. Masey went through 2.5 years of treatment here in Madison.
She received 21 cycles of Chemo; 38 radiation treatments; a stem cell transplant; a lobectomy and tumor resection and SO many more things during her fight. She tried two different clinical trials - one right here in Madison. I've never seen a team of medical Dr's fight so hard to save a childs life as they did for Masey. In March 2023 we ran out of options to kill this cancer and Masey received her angel wings April 20th, 2023.
These donations will help the medical team continue to research to find better ways to treat and research cancer. 2023 would have been Masey's 7th Birthday - in honor of that we're hoping to raise $7000.
Our group is proudly helping accelerate cancer research and patient treatment initiatives forward at the University of Wisconsin through our involvement in Badger Challenge, an annual walking, running, and biking event which powers the brightest cancer minds, ideas and technologies at UW. We all have been affected by cancer in some way and more needs to be done to combat this terrible disease.
The Badger Challenge's mission is to give 100% of all participant-raised dollars (yes, every penny!) to the most promising UW cancer initiatives both in the laboratory and clinic setting. Since 2016, Badger Challenge has raised over $3.6 million and what’s best of all is our ability to see where the money goes as Badger Challenge presents their Scholars each year!
Badger Challenge takes place in September and 100% of all dollars-raised are presented to the newly announced Scholar Class by January of the next year. This is done quickly so the funds can make an impact in the labs and hospital helping patients and families immediately.
