Pedal the Cause

Hello friends! 

I am raising funds for Pedal the Cause in the fight against cancer. 

This year specifically I am raising funds in support of Hispanic Heritage Month. Cancer is the second leading cause of death among Hispanic people, accounting for 17% of deaths. This means that 1 in 2 Latino men and 1 in 3 Latina women will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Compared with non-Hispanic Whites, Hispanic/Latin men and women are:

* Less likely to be diagnosed with the most common cancers: lung, colorectal, breast, and prostate

* More likely to develop cancer in the liver, stomach, and cervix. These cancers are linked with infectious agents, such as HPV, and are largely preventable.
