I am participating in the 2025 Defeat Multiple Myeloma Run/Walk on Sunday, June 29. It will be a very different run this year, as my father, Chris Beebe, is joining the "in honor of" list alongside Freddy Neill & Carl Shelton. He has been a pillar in the Multiple Myeloma circle, fostering knowledge, a sense of community, and the courage to live and take charge of ones life, even when facing the Goliath that is cancer. He lit up a room with a single smile, and never left a place without making a new friend. He will be sorely missed, but his memory will live on in all who had the privilege to know him.
Fred Hutch made it possible for me to have 10 extra years with my father (from the point of his diagnosis), and I hope that with continued support that we can give those affected even more time to live life to its fullest with their loved ones.
Every single donation, regardless of size, plays a part in bringing myeloma treatment options to patients faster and helping fund research to find a cure for this cancer. Together, we are building community, supporting survivors, remembering loved ones lost, and funding research that is giving new hope to patients. We are committed, we are strong, and our impact can be enormous.
Please join me in this fight and increase our impact by making a donation to my page today - every dollar helps, as 100% of all funds raised will go directly to advancing multiple myeloma cancer research at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
What is Multiple Myeloma?
Multiple Myeloma is a cancer of plasma cells found in bone marrow. Normal plasma cells help the immune system fight disease, but when plasma cells become cancerous they grow out of control and can produce a tumor called a plasmacytoma. If someone has more than one plasmacytoma, they have multiple myeloma.
Why support this event?
Defeat Multiple Myeloma’s mission is to raise awareness of multiple myeloma while supporting research that seeks to discover new treatments, improve the quality of life for myeloma patients, and ultimately find a cure for this devastating form of cancer. Dr. Green is one of the leading researchers in the US in developing new and more effective methods of overcoming Multiple Myeloma. While the various immunotherapy treatments that he has brought to clinical trials have proven quite successful, his ultimate goal is to find a cure, not just a treatment. 100% of all funds raised through this event go to the Multiple Myeloma community - through the funding of Dr. Green's research, or helping bring myeloma treatment options to patients faster. Together, we are building community, supporting survivors, remembering loved ones lost, and funding research that is giving new hope to patients. We are committed, we are strong, and our impact can be enormous.
