We run every year to support our dad, Grady Elwell, who lost his life to brain cancer (Grade 4 Astrocytoma) in 2022. He was an amazing dad and he loved supporting this race! He did everything he could to stay with us including, four brain surgeries, many days of radiation, many rounds of chemotherapy, physical therapy and experimental treatments that are still in trial. But even all of that isn't enough for this most brutal disease. Grady was honored to serve as an ambassador for this race and ran it himself every year until his final year when he was in a wheelchair. Now his wife and kids run in his honor.
