On Saturday, May 14th, from 9:00 am to completion, four community organizations entered a friendly competition to see who could create the most beautiful garden bed. The competition will be held at Fairbanks Park under the fountain archway. The four community organizations competing are the Honey Creek Garden Club, The Herb Society, Towne and Country Garden Club, and Master Gardeners and Friends. The playing of "On the Banks of the Wabash" played at 9:00 am marking the start of planting. Music and a canon salute will follow shortly after.
Along with the fun atmosphere, this year's event will include a People's Choice Award, separate from the Judges' Choice. Each dollar donated toward a group will equal one vote. Voting will stay open until one week before judging day, July 7th. There are no limits to the number of votes per person.
