Late last year my wife, Anne, was diagnosed with breast cancer after a routine mammogram. Fortunately, she was being seen at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals, so the tumors were caught very early. She underwent successful surgery and post-surgical treatments, and is now in remission. Throughout the entire process (she's up to over 30 clinical visits) her care has been technically brilliant, well-managed, and very compassionate. As partial repayment to her care team and UW as a whole I and my team will be participating in this year's Badger Challenge fundraiser.
As special incentive, I will personally match the first $1000 in donations my team receives. Please be generous, but any amount is appreciated. It all adds up, and who knows, your dollar might be the one that buys a breakthrough!
The Badger Challenge's mission is to give 100% of all participant-raised dollars (yes, every penny!) to the most promising UW cancer initiatives both in the laboratory and clinic setting. Since 2016, Badger Challenge has raised over $3.6 million and what’s best of all is our ability to see where the money goes as Badger Challenge presents their Scholars each year!
Badger Challenge takes place in September and 100% of all dollars-raised are presented to the newly announced Scholar Class by January of the next year. This is done quickly so the funds can make an impact in the labs and hospital helping patients and families immediately.
