Cancer.

We all know someone who has been affected by this terrible disease. One diagnosis robs so many people of so many different things.

My Dad Rich was the greatest man I’ve known. He was diagnosed with a stage 4 glioblastoma in July of 2015 and took his last breath as I held his hand in January of 2017.

He was robbed of so much. He didn’t get to walk his daughters down the aisle at their wedding, he never got to meet his grandkids - he’s got three of them now. Sierra won’t have Grandpa Rich cheering her on at a softball game (he would have gone to a lot of them), Henry won’t have Grandpa Rich play baseball in the yard with him and he only knows Grandpa Rich through pictures and that he lives in Heaven. My Mom doesn’t get to grow old with the love of her life.

But Pedal the Cause brings hope. Hope that one day, the unfairness of cancer will end and quit robbing so many people of so much.
