In 2022, a veteran faced a critical turning point in life. Struggling to
maintain a healthy balance in both mental and emotional well-being, he
found himself in a dark place, hesitating to seek help. Pride and the fear of
appearing weak kept him from reaching out.
One day, he came across a campaign showcasing 22 mohawks on social
media, advocating for veterans in need of service and therapy dogs. After
reflecting on his solitude and its impact on his condition, he recognized
the urgency of his situation. With only weeks left before he planned to
leave this world behind, he mustered the courage to ask for help.
22 Mohawks responded, and within days, they placed a service dog with
him—an act that would change everything. This intervention halted his
plans and revitalized his connection to his friends, family, and community.
This veteran is here today because of 22 Mohawks and their unwavering
support. He was the first recipient of a dog from the "Pups for Vets and
First Responders" program. Since its inception, this program has
successfully paired over 150 dogs with veterans and first responders.
He now serves as the Director of Operations for 22 Mohawks Cape Cod,
working tirelessly to ensure that others can find their way back, just as he
did. He humbly asks for your support in the upcoming Boston Bruins BFIT
Challenge. The work we do is vital and ongoing.
Remember, it’s not the length of life that matters, but the depth of our
experiences and connections. Your donation will help ensure that this
important mission continues to impact lives positively.
