I'm proudly supporting Semper Fi & America's Fund as a community athlete for the 2022 TCS New York City Marathon Semper Fi & America's Fund Team.
Semper Fi & America’s Fund provides immediate financial assistance and lifetime support for veterans during their time of recovery and transition back into civilian life. Case Managers work one-on-one with service members and veterans to understand and support their individual needs now and throughout their lifetimes.
The Fund keeps its overhead low in order to have the greatest impact on the lives of veterans and their families and has been awarded the highest ratings from watchdog groups: A+ from CharityWatch (one of only two Veteran nonprofits to receive their highest rating), a Charity Navigator 4-Star rating for ten consecutive years (an achievement attained by only 2% of rated charities), and the Platinum Seal of Transparency from GuideStar. My father PFC James Craig is a marine and served in the Korean War and earned 2 Purple Hearts in combat. His best friend PFC George Matthews saved his life in a fire fight but lost his own life in the process. My wife and I named our youngest son Matthew George in honor of his sacrifice. We have so much respect for the US Marine Corps and my daughter and I would consider it an honor and privilege to run and raise money for the USMC and the marines who continue to make sacrifices and dedicate the run to the man who made my family possible.
