Since 2016 Stamford Interfaith Refugee Settlement (SIRS) has welcomed and resettled -- with coaching by IRIS -- eight refugee families in Stamford.
SIRS holds an afternoon (1PM not early morning!) walk (or run if you must) locally in Stamford (rather than driving an hour to New Haven!) This is our 4th Walk in Stamford. Join us in supporting IRIS!
IRIS helps close to 2,000 refugees and immigrants each year either directly or through co-sponsors, such as SIRS (which works with refugee families).
Refugees are men, women and children who fled their countries of origin due to persecution on the basis of their race, nationality, religious belief, political opinion, or membership in a particular social group. Our joint goal is the help families establish new lives, regain hope, and contribute to the vitality of Connecticut’s communities.
