In honor of my 40th birthday on September 25th, I am training to complete the Badger Challenge Half Marathon on September 22nd.
The Badger Challenge is an annual event providing critical funds to power the brightest cancer minds, ideas and technologies at UW-Wisconsin to move cancer research forward.
The Badger Challenge's mission is to give 100% of all participant-raised dollars (yes, every penny!) to the most promising UW cancer initiatives both in the laboratory and clinic setting. Since 2016, Badger Challenge has raised over $3.6 million and what’s best of all is our ability to see where the money goes as Badger Challenge presents their Scholars each year!
In addition to running, I hope to raise $400 to support their efforts and to mark my big 4-0 birthday ($4,000 felt aggressive, ha!).
