More than 17,000 people will be diagnosed with sarcoma this year. Sarcoma accounts for 1% of adult cancers and 15-20% of childhood cancers. The love of my life, Meghan Farrell, unfortunately is among one of those 1% of adults dealing with an inoperable Fibromixoid Sarcoma on the dura of her brain. On April 26th we got to witness Meghan ring the bell marking the completion of her treatment and first step towards healing. That day, we celebrated her resilience, reflected on the challenges she’s overcome, and looked ahead with hope to the bright days still to come.

I’ve often compared this journey to a storm, but Meghan has remained a constant ray of sunshine. She’s never asked “why me?” Instead, she’s carried this responsibility like a torch, determined to beat this rare sarcoma so that others facing something equally unheard of will know they’re not alone. On behalf of Meghan’s parents, Kevin and Sharon, her family, and her long list of friends, I want to say how deeply thankful we are for the love you’ve shown us.

Having ran in the Brooklyn Half Marathon last August in accordance with SFA, our team raised $8,000, which was 3,000 more than our goal!!! Although we crossed the finish line, I knew the battle against cancer and my affiliation with this outstanding organization was not finished. I am running in the Jersey Shore Asbury Park Half Marathon to raise funds for SFA to help the many individuals and families still battling cross their own finish line. The Sarcoma Foundation of America’s mission is to improve outcomes for people diagnosed with sarcoma and increase the number of survivors. With your possible donation, I believe we will be one step closer in helping strengthen and lengthen lives.
