Pedal the Cause

It's been a whole 20 years since we said goodbye to Catherine Ann Young (my beloved Grandma Young), and it's been even longer since we lost Rosemary Deters. They were both incredible in their own special ways. Grandma Young was all about warmth, kindness, and love. A testament to her character is that me, my cousin, her daughter, and my one-year-old daughter all carry on the "Catherine" name. And Grandma Rosie,  she worked hard, was sharp, and she absolutely loved buying presents...wonder who I got that from? 

I really wish they could be here today, but they both lost their fights with cancer (breast and lung) before I was even 12. Reflecting back on all the memories they missed, our birthdays, graduations, weddings, and so much more. I know everyone reading this knows a handful of people that fought, are fighting, or survived. I am proud to join Pedal the Cause in the fight against cancer. Pedal the Cause is more than the region's largest cancer fundraiser. It's a way of life, a celebration, a family and a movement fueled by the courage to end cancer.
