In the Fall of 1995, our father died of glioblastoma multiforma (brain cancer). Madeline and I were 14, fatherless and beginning our freshman year at Kirkwood High School. Matthew was 7 and barely a Second Grader at Westchester Elementary. Our mother taught us to stay strong, show compassion, be humble and to be thankful for all the good in our lives. During the Spring of 2014, we were faced with adversity again when our mother died of esophageal cancer. We participate in Pedal the Cause every year and ride on TEAM ELLEN. We ride for our Mom, Ellen Marting Moore and our Dad, George Stephen Moore. We ride because cancer took away the two most important people in our lives, our parents, who showered us with unconditional love and support from the day we were born. We ride to grieve. We ride to LOVE. We ride to END CANCER.
I ride for my daughters Juliet and Vivian and all my nieces and nephews, children, grandchildren, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, mothers, fathers, grandparents, spouses, neighbors, friends and students of those affected by cancer. I am proud to make a commitment to Pedal the Cause, in the fight against Cancer. We continue to put our faith in God and remember the verse our mom taught us: I can do ALL things through Jesus Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13. We truly believe it takes world-class research to create a world without cancer. Please help me in this journey by donating to my ride, and give with confidence knowing that 100% of your donation will go directly to accelerating cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and St. Louis Children's Hospital. Every penny raised goes directly to cancer research.
I am proud to join Pedal the Cause in the fight against cancer. Pedal the Cause is more than the region's largest cancer fundraiser. It's a way of life, a celebration, a family and a movement fueled by the courage to end cancer.
Please support my efforts by donating to my fundraiser, and give with confidence knowing that 100% of your donation will fund lifesaving cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and Siteman Kids at St. Louis Children's Hospital.
