Welcome to my fundraising page! I am participating in the Miracles in Motion in Motion 5K, which is raising money for the Johns Hopkins Children's Center. Our team is specifically raising funds for the Center for Fetal Therapy. Over the last ten years, the incredible doctors at the Center for Fetal Therapy at Johns Hopkins have supported families facing complex fetal conditions during pregnancy - families like mine.
Just 16 weeks into my twin pregnancy, I was diagnosed with Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome, a rare condition affecting twins sharing a placenta and causing the uneven sharing of placental resources. In cases like ours, left untreated, less than 5% of twins survive.
On my 35th birthday, my sons, Ethan and Eric, and I underwent surgery with the Center for Fetal Therapy team. Drs. Rosner and Miller performed the lifesaving surgery that allowed me to carry my sons for 32 weeks when they were born tiny, but healthy. They are now thriving 2.5 year olds with plenty of spunk and sweetness. We owe their lives to the incredible care of the entire CFT team.
By supporting me, you will be supporting patient- and- family-centered care, education, and research efforts for the more than 100,000 patients seen at Johns Hopkins Children's Center each year and will directly amplify the profound impact of the CFT team.
