Hope Street is The Greenhouse for People on 26th and Capitol. We provide housing and community to empower broken men, women, and children to cultivate a relationship with Jesus, themselves, and others to restore hope that flourishing is possible for us all.
We have a supportive housing facility, Homes at Hope Street, that houses men, women and children coming from situations like homelessness, drug and alcohol abuse, incarceration, or just hard times. We provide a safe place for people to find healing and growth among a supportive community.
We also have a community center, Shechem at Hope Street, with over 1,800 members. In this space, men, women and children are challenged to cultivate hope in their lives, be a part of community, and protect themselves and one another. At Shechem at Hope Street, many young men come during the day for open gym, while afterschool the building fills with students for afterschool programming.
We believe in coming alongside people as they learn and work towards what is best for them. We believe in coming around the whole person and creating opportunities for people to grow mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually, and intellectually.
We call ourselves The Greenhouse for People as we are a safe place for people to grow. When strong and healthy, plants are able to transplant out of a Greenhouse and bring beauty somewhere else. Similarly, we hope that our members are able to take what they have learned at Hope Street and transplant out, bringing their growth into the community.
