We are participating in the annual run/walk for Pittsburgh Cure Sarcoma, a volunteer led organization that represents a cause very important to us. We are working together to raise much needed funds for life-saving sarcoma research and advocacy. Please consider supporting us in our efforts for this worthy cause! On a more personal note, I have difficulty describing my journey with sarcomas which started in January of 2009. I've lost the use of my left hand and left shoulder a couple of years ago. All of my favorite activities are physical which includes ice hockey, cycling, and down hill and cross country skiing. I can't safely do any of these. I can't safely hold anything with two hands including my grand kids and great nieces and nephews. I thought I would teach my grand kids how to skate, ski, throw a ball, things we all take for granted. On the positive side of things, I've learned how to ask total strangers for help. I don't hesitate to ask restaurant kitchen staff to slice my steak. If I get on a plane, using the overhead luggage compartment requires help. I'm not complaining, just reporting. I'm grateful to be here especially when I know the harsh survival realities of different types of sarcomas. Take a moment and donate.
