It is time to finally give back to the one organization they gave me everything! I am a success story (I think)! Growing up there weren’t too many things I was very good at and economically it’s not like my parents could afford to put me in different types of sports teams. In middle school one of my favorite periods was PE and it was because I really enjoyed being active and running! My PE coach (Coach Sampson) saw a little flicker or possibility and he encouraged me for weeks to join SRLA- finally I said “okay fine.” And the rest is history! 20 years later here I am still as passionate about running!
SLRA really opened the World of possibility! I felt empowered as a little girl that I could do some thing that most adults have never done in their life. And it led to many other doors which have all led me to the life that I have now!
I am running to support students and keep SRLA running for years to come. To continue to provide a sense of community, support and opportunities. SRLA has changed so many young lives- I would know first hand!
You can join me by donating or becoming a charity runner, too!
Help me reach my goal 🏃
