On September 10-11th, 7 teammates and I will be completing a Ragnar race at Pocohantas State Park. In fact, there are two teams of 8 that have combined forces to double our impact foe Kids Run RVA! Our two teams will each complete 122.4 miles in a relay-style race - this will not only be a physical feat but also a mental and emotional one as every team member will run at least one leg at night in the dark, on limited sleep. But we are doing this all to raise money for Kids Run RVA, a program of Sports Backers. Kids Run RVA supports kids running clubs in the Richmond region, giving school aged kids an opportunity to train for and then complete a local race over the course of a fall and/or spring season. Kids Run provides resources for their coaches to foster a safe and fun environment to build up their physical endurance in order to be ready for race day. We provide shoes to kids in need, provide free race entries for those who wouldn’t otherwise be able to participate, and give each kid a team t-shirt to further create a sense of belonging and purpose for each of our young runners.
Please consider supporting me by making a donation to Kids Run RVA.
