I’m excited to be partnering up with First Flight Alliance to run the NYC marathon and raise money for Operation Active Kids!
Operation Active Kids (OAK) is an amazing charity located in the Upstate of South Carolina. OAK provides funding for children who want to play sports or other recreational activities, and all of your donations will be directly going towards helping these children stay active.
I chose to partner with a local charity to give back to the community who helped me grow. When I was 14, I developed a mild case of Guillain-barré. This left me with the inability to walk on my own for four months causing me to give up on things I loved, including running. In 2021, I gained the courage to start running again and was greeted with an amazing, loving running community here in the Upstate. I cannot think of a better reason to run my first marathon than helping out my community and running in an iconic marathon.
