Friends, Family and colleagues it’s that time of year again, where we get to celebrate and cheer on those brave enough to put themselves through the torture of running 26.2 miles across the streets of NYC. Yours truly has decided to put myself through that torture and push my mind to finish this race strong. This will be round two for me, mind you last time I ran I was 4 kids less and 10 years younger. The good news is I feel strong and my numbers are showing it. Could it be that I had to push my two year old in a stroller in order to get the miles in because he doesn’t let me out of his site not for a single minute. Well thanks to him for getting me prepared. In order to accomplish this feat of mine I am reaching out for your support. Anything you can contribute is greatly appreciated and will benefit my charity - first flight alliance and their O.A.K. Scholarship program. First flight’s mission is to inspire first steps towards building a healthier, stronger community. First flight sponsors a series of races and with the proceeds raised they provide funding to children in the community who want to play sports and other recreational activities through their Oak Scholarship program. This program provides partial to full scholarships to help eligible families cover the costs associated with youth sports. As a mother who has spent countless hours in the stands and on sidelines cheering, I know the enormous benefits children receive from participating in organized sport. Thank you for your support and wish me luck on November 5th!
